Marvel Studios' desire to have Moon Knight return before Avengers: Secret Wars points toward the Disney+ story setting up the blockbuster in some way. And after a debut season with almost no links to the wider MCU, perhaps that's exactly what Moon Knight needs to help him smoothly enter the Avengers fold.
Based on the Dragula reality competition program, the two-hour film is described as \"part horror movie, part documentary, and part reality competition.\" It's the show's first spinoff project and will feature contestants from all three seasons competing against one another. Hopefuls include: Frankie Doom (Season 1), Loris (Season 1), Kendra Onixxx (Season 2), Dahli (Season 2), Victoria Elizabeth Black (Season 2), Priscilla Chambers (Season 3), and Saint (formerly St. Lucia, of Season 3). The victor will be rewarded $20,000 in cash and a chance to compete on the upcoming fourth season.
For years Carter and his team scoured the rocky landscape, scarred with the trenches of previous digs. Discoveries were thin on the ground. In 1922 a frustrated Carnarvon informed Carter he would not continue to finance the work. Carter pleaded with him to reconsider; moved by his passion, Carnarvon agreed to fund one last season. On November 1, 1922, Carter resumed digging in the Valley of the Kings. On November 4, they found the stairway that led to the unopened tomb of Tutankhamun.
Another variant of Kang the Conqueror could appear in Loki season 2 after his introduction in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The first project in the MCU's Phase 5 debuted the warrior variant of Kang the Conqueror as the primary adversary to Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man, and his Quantum Realm team of heroes, but Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's mid-credits scene debuted more Kang variants than anybody was expecting. The Council of Kangs officially brought Immortus, Rama-Tut, and hundreds of other variants of Kang the Conqueror into the MCU, marking the start of some major changes in the landscape of the MCU.
As a surprise for Marvel Studios' audiences, Loki season 2's story was teased in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which saw Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson reprise their roles from Phase 4's Loki as the titular God of Mischief and TVA worker Mobius M. Mobius. In the scene, the pair witness a show in what appears to be the 1920s from none other than Jonathan Majors' Victor Timely, a business-focused variant of Kang the Conqueror. While Timely is set to feature prominently in Loki season 2, other Kang variants could also make appearances, including one directly connected to one mysterious character from Loki's first season.
Loki season 1 debuted Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the MCU's Ravonna Renslayer, a Judge in the TVA who presides over Loki's case and is left reeling after the Time-Keepers are revealed to be fake. While it wasn't mentioned during the Disney+ series, Ravonna has a connection to Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Comics, as the pair fell in love, and she eventually succeeded him, ruling over his kingdom as she and Kang spent years killing and reviving each other out of boredom. In one stranger story from Marvel Comics, Ravonna Renslayer is actually revealed to be a version of Moon Knight, which could become an important storyline for Loki season 2.
In the MCU's Phase 4, Moon Knight introduced Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Jake Lockley, the current avatar for the Egyptian God of the Moon, Khonshu, operating as Moon Knight in the present day. However, it's known that Khonshu had avatars before Marc, including Arthur Harrow, so it's possible that Ravonna Renslayer had also been his avatar during the period of Ancient Egypt. In Loki's season 1 finale, Ravonna leaves the TVA to search for free will, a journey which could perhaps lead to her discovering her past as the MCU's original Moon Knight.
Phase 4's Moon Knight teased the introduction of Rama-Tut, the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh variant of Kang the Conqueror, before he actually made an appearance in the Council of Kangs in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In the comics, Ravonna operates as Moon Knight during Rama-Tut's reign over Egypt, so this development in Loki season 2 could see Rama-Tut get more development in the MCU alongside his Victor Timely variant. Since Ravonna Renslayer's debut in Loki season 1, many have speculated that her Marvel Comics connection to Kang the Conqueror would be explored, featuring her as Moon Knight could be the perfect way to do this.
Currently, the status of Moon Knight season 2 is unclear, especially now that Marvel Studios will be slowing down production on their Disney+ shows in Phase 5 and beyond. This means that, in order for Rama-Tut to get the kind of development he deserves before Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, he'll need to be featured in another MCU project. His connection to Ravonna Renslayer, and her obscure Marvel Comics history as Moon Knight, means that Loki season 2 might be the best place for this. This would also help to connect Moon Knight to the wider world of the MCU, particularly after Phase 4's criticisms of lacking interconnectivity.
Victor Timely's introduction in the post-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, alongside Loki and Mobius, suggests that he will play a huge role in the upcoming Phase 5 Disney+ series. Other variants of Kang the Conqueror could also appear, especially since the statue of Kang in Loki's season 1 finale was dressed in the Conqueror's iconic suit of armor rather than the costume of any other variant. This perhaps suggests that the variant seen in Quantumania is now presiding over the TVA, and Victor Timely's appearance could be Loki and Mobius' version of research on their new leader.
If Victor Timely appears in Loki season 2, there's no telling how many other variants of Kang the Conqueror could show their faces, which means there may be no better place to develop Rama-Tut and the history of the MCU's Moon Knight. This would not only take huge steps to develop the mythos surrounding Kang the Conqueror in the MCU ahead of the climactic battles of the Multiverse Saga, but this would also give Mbatha-Raw a much more substantial role in Loki, and even perhaps help to humanize Kang the Conqueror more than his vengeful portrayal in Quantumania. Loki season 2 could completely change audiences' perspectives of Kang the Conqueror.
Spoiler Warning: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was a proper introduction to the Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror into the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a tease in the season finale of Loki. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Kang the Conqueror is one of the most dangerous villains in the comics and his arrival in the MCU has been met with much anticipation. The character is positioned as the next Thanos-level threat and will be the over-arcing villain of Phases 4 through 6 of the MCU known as The Multiverse Saga. This will culminate in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Studios has yet to confirm Moon Knight for a season two renewal, though star Oscar Isaac has hinted at it. Audiences are certain to see Moon Knight again in the MCU, though it is unclear where. There are still plenty of stories left to tell as audiences eagerly await to find out what is going on with the third identity inside Steven Grant and Marc Spector, that of the murderous Jack Lockely.
Moon Knight dealt with the world of the supernatural, so why would Kang the Conqeor show up in Moon Knight One of Kang's alternate identities Rama-Tut was an Egyptian Pharaoh who was teased in Moon Knight season one. Rama-Tut appeared in the mid-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania so this connection could be expanded upon in season two of Moon Knight and connect the hero with the wider MCU.
What If... deals with alternate timelines in the vast multiverse, and with how many Kang variants there were shown in the end-credits of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quatunamania some certainly must be from the various timelines glimpsed in the speculative Disney+ show While What If... is positioned as an anthology series, it did feature an over-arcing narrative in its first season. The inclusion of Kang and his many variants in What If... could further connect this animated series to the wider MCU as well as expand upon the villain and show more unique variations on the character.
The most obvious place Kang will appear next is of course Loki season two. Season one introduced the Kang variant He Who Remains, played by Jonathan Majors a whole 19 months before Kang's appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. That series ended with the reveal that a Kang variant has taken control of the TVA setting up his involvement in season two. The post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was a clip from Loki season 2 of Loki and Mobius watching a Kang variant named Victor Timely talking about time to a crowd of people in the early 1900s.
Loki will likely feature more versions of Kang and probably will expand upon the Council of Kangs glimpsed at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Loki is the MCU series that essentially kicked off the Multiverse Saga as chronologically it takes place first in the timeline, with Sylvie killing He Who Remains fracturing the sacred timeline. It is a safe bet Loki season two will play an even bigger role in developing Kang's backstory, motivation, and place in the Multiverse Saga.
That includes a very subtle Easter egg in the first season of Moon Knight, which references an ancient Egyptian ruler named Rama-Tut. He's an infamous variant of Kang from the comics, and the reference suggests that his influence is intact. Quantumania confirms Rama-Tut's existence during its post-credits scene, making the Moon Knight connection more important than it initially seemed. 59ce067264
